This smart little gadget is equipped with good features that are present on most smart phones with a few hidden surprises. Like most smart phones today, the XonPhone has its own key features- some of which cannot be found on any other smart phone in the same price range.

This is what makes the XonPhone 5 stand out. The first thing that you will notice first is the IPS OGS screen that is 5 inches. It is also an HD one that also has Full View. So you can enjoy watching the screen at any angle without it really darkening. Most budget handsets do not have this XonPhone advantage.

The screen also has a 16.77 million colors format, so you can enjoy vivid and bright colours. Images are not only joist delivered in HD but they are sharp too (320 PPI).

Then there is the design of the phone- it has a very simple look and this seems to be fine with all users of the phone. However, if you want something flashy, you can also choose the gold variant as the phone comes in three colours of blue, gold and grey. The back cover also sports the 8 MP camera, the LED flash and the brand logo.

The back cover is plastic and has a perforated design to it. There are steel rims on the sides that add a very premium look to it- here you will also find the volume and the power buttons. Under the display you have three navigation buttons, the 2 MP camera and the sensors.

Coming to the OS, you have Android 4.4.2 installed; this is the Kit Kat version. The UI has a custom layer on it and customized icons- OPlus has promised FOTA, OT updates as they are available. This is another good feature as users will like to get the best for their androids.

It is the storage of the XonPhone 5 that is really good. OPlus has added 16 GB of internal storage. From this, only 13 GB is available out of the box, which is still good at this price range. You also have the option of increasing the storage through Micro SD. A 1 GB RAM pulls together the entire XonPhone 5.

Then there are the connectivity options, the smart phone houses nearly all that you can think of including the micro SD, Bluetooth, WiFi, and WiFi Direct. Plenty of apps have been preinstalled- Oplus has made sure that these are the useful ones like Video Player, YouTube, Torch, the Snapdeal.com app and some games.

Coming to the OS, you have the Android 4.4.2 with minor customizations made to the icons and the user interface. The phone dialer has an inbuilt video calling option. The XonPhone 5 - Not Your Average Budget Smart Phone

One budget smart phone has successfully combined good features with some really great ones. We are talking about the XonPhone 5. Currently available on Snapdeal.com for Rs. 7999/-, the smart phone is a good investment that promises good performance.

Those people, who want a smart phone with a good amount of internal space, should consider the XonPhone 5. This smart phone from OPlus sports a 5” HD display, good design and build quality, awesome battery life and good performance.

OPlus is a name that is very new, they had first come out with a budget tablet called Xonpad 7, now they have XonPhone 5. As far as the Xonpad 7 is concerned, it had got the attention that was due as the company has ensured that it was at par with premium build tablets. What OPlus had done was to merge affordability and decent specifications in Xonpad 7 and now their XonPhone 5.

The XonPhone 5 is the first smart phone offering from Oplus for their Indian consumers, priced at a very competitive Rs. 7999/- or $130. The names that currently dominate this market include Samsung, Motorola, Micromax and Sony. After the release of the Xonpad 7, however, OPlus found that a customized survival strategy worked best for them in this market. This was to offer standard gadgets that also contained good features that were packaged that were effectively priced.

Consumers who have used the XonPhone 5 are happy with it; they do however wish that the cameras were a little better. The 8 MP camera is a very good feature that many other smart phones are not offering along with the 2 MP camera. Both capture very good images and videos, feature multiple settings, and have geo tagging. Here is a quick look at the specifications of the phone:

Intro: XonPhone 5 Review:
After using the XonPad 7, we had very high expectations from the XonPhone 5, which it did deliver on. The first thing that was noticed was the impressive performance after the first boot. Then there was the build of the phone that was also good as it looked like a premium phone and was also built like one. The MT6582 CPU by MediaTek can be found on similar phones, so where quality performance is concerned, one does not have to worry.

Regarding its features, the XonPhone 5 has everything that an androids is supposed to have, and that a good thing. Along with this you also have a few key features that make the phone stand out on its own; this is what makes the phone worth its price tag:
•          MediaTek MT6582 (1.3 GHz)
•          5” display (1280x 720p)
•          1 GB RAM
•          Mali 400 GPU
•          16 GB Internal Storage
•          8 MP Primary Camera (Auto Focus)
•          2 MP Camera (Front Facing)
•          Android 4.4.2 (Kit Kat)
•          Dual SIM
•          2000 mAh battery
•          143x71.5x7.8 mm Dimensions

Upon taking a closer look at what it really contains, the specifications being offered are really good. The experience across all these main criteria was respectable. What adds more value to this phone is the internal storage, price, design, user interface and display?

On a last note, Oplus felt that it was necessary to setup a network for customer support that offers ‘At-Your-Doorstep’ service as part of an extended warranty to the customer. This adds more value as many other bigger companies may not cover their budget smart offerings in this way.

The XonPhone 5 offers a number of features at a jaw dropping price. Log on to www.oplustech.com to know what they are.

XonPhone 5 Camera Review

The camera on any smart phone is one of the key features that consumers want. So whether it is a single camera or a dual camera system on a phone, it should be able to capture clear, bright and sharp images.

Apart from some really good specifications, OPlus has also added two great cameras on their flagship smart phone that has multi functionality.  The first is the 8 MP camera on the back with LED flash and Auto focus and on the front, you have the sensors, earpiece and the 2 MP camera. The 2 MP camera has an aperture of F 2.8, you will need a stable surface to get a good shot for video calling.

The rear camera has an aperture of F 2.2 and can capture 1080 pixel videos in HD and the front facing camera can record 720 pixels videos. When you open the camera interface, the first thing you will notice is the picture or camera modes on the left hand side, where you will find the ‘face beauty’, ‘panorama’ and ‘Live Shot’ mode. The Panorama mode has been enabled with the angle shot, so you can capture panoramic shots from any angle.

On this same interface, you will also find quick toggle options that allow you to switch between both cameras, here you can also control the HDR mode and the Flash as well.

Under the settings, you have the option for controlling Geo Tagging right on top; in this same panel you can adjust the exposure, the white balance, and colour effect to your liking. The scene modes in the settings panel have more options added, like the Night Mode, Landscape/Portrait Mode, and Steady Photo etc.

The XonPhone 5 camera features an ‘Image Properties’ setting- this is something very similar to what you will find in DSLR cameras. This features enables you to capture flat pictures that have less contrast, saturation and sharpness- this is something that can edited to your liking later on instead of adjusting your settings just before taking a shot.

Pictures captured in this mode come out pretty decent and what’s more interesting is that you have this unique setting in the video mode as well.

In the tab marked ‘Picture Settings’, you can edit the zero shutter display, the face detection, smile shot and voice capture. The burst mode can capture either 40 or 99 shots continuously, with amazing speed. Under the Picture size mode, you will notice that you can capture 8 mega pixel shots in either the 4x 3 or 16x 9 ratios along with the ISO settings.

Moving on to video recording settings, you have the EIS (electronic image stabilization) and control the time lapse, microphone, audio mode and video quality. Pictures and videos recorded in bright daylight are great as the F 2.2 ability in the 8 MP camera allows more light to filter in, you will find very slight blurring, which is to be expected. In the normal shots, only the back ground gets blurred. The camera does have slight problems tracking objects and might not be able to focus too well. Shots captures indoors are sharp and the night mode does a far better job of capturing more light.

The camera on the XonPhone 5 works well and delivers great shots. You be the judge of the camera quality on a smart phone that costs just Rs. 7999/-. Log on to www.oplustech.com to see more reviews.
