Taiwanese
manufacturers Oplus launched the XonPad 7 exclusively for the e-commerce. It
will not be available in retail stores. The sturdy gadget was launched in New
Delhi.
Oplus has
just rolled out a budget friendly tablet, XonPad 7. It comes with 7inch
capacitive display with a resolution of 1280 x 880 pixels whereas other tabs
like Micromax Funbook P255 have 800 x 480 pixels. Opus XonPad 7 has an inbuilt
memory of 16 GB which is expandable up to 32 GB and on the other hand Micromax
Funbook P255 has an inbuilt memory of 512 MB. The tablet is up for pre-orders
on Snapdeal for Rs. 9,990 while the device is not available on Infibeam and
Flipkart.
The audio
quality of the device is pretty good with the bundled headphones as well as the
rear speaker. Higher volume levels are not jarring and movies and music are
enjoyable on the big seven inch screen. The video watching experience is a
beauty in itself; especially YouTube videos that get just do not pixilated.
Oplus XonPad 7 surely gives you a theatrical experience. The video player
supports most of the formats.
The Oplus
XonPad 7 is in all likelihood aimed at the emerging markets, judging not only
from the specs, but from the availability of a SIM card slot. The tablet’s look
does not resemble any of the existing smart phones or tablets. It has a new
look. The black metal finish gives the device a powerful and rugged look. The
rounded edges make it a very comfortable gadget and the sharp edges would not
poke you. The subtle pattern makes is reasonably easy to hold with one hand.
The tab is slightly heavy for today's standards at 310 grams, yet keeping in
mind the screen size; it does not feel thick and bulky. Though the user interface needs a couple of
days to get used to it, it is not complicated but isn’t a cakewalk either.
Well, 1280 x
800 displays it is and looks and feels great if you are watching HD movies.
Fortunately, one of the best parts about Oplus Xonpad 7 is that it does not
house any extraneous features like most of the other latest tabs have. It is an
appropriate device with all the basic needs. All you further need is there for
you to download. The 16 GB in built memory which is expandable up to 32 GB permits
you to download as much as you want and save it as your favorite.
The most
striking thing about this Tab is its price. Oplus
XonPad 7 with 3G calling comes at an unbelievable price of Rs. 9990 only. With Android Jellybean
4.2.2, Oplus XonPad has great specs. The 5 MP rear camera is very good for
photography. It has several features like auto-focus, flash etc. Connectivity
is by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth GSM and EDGE. All in all it is a great buy! It is
completely worth every penny.
