OPlus launched the XonPad 7, the company’s first tablet in the beginning of 2014 in Delhi, India. Here we have the complete review of the tablet.
On unboxing OPlus XonPad 7, you will realize that the 7 inch Android tablet is encased in a brush metal dark grey case. You will find your 7 inch 3G Android tablet along with a pair of earphones with microphones and micro USB cable. It has a simple look. Nothing very fancy but nothing very cheap either. OPlus XonPad 7 is one of the rare Android tablets to feature a 1280 x 800 pixel display and because of this the viewers get a bright and sharp display. The viewing angles are faultless. The tablet functions on Cortex A7 Quad core (1.2GHZ/28NM) processor. This along with the 1 GB RAM makes OPlus XonPad 7 pretty good when it comes to speed. The applications run in a smooth way. They don’t hang unlike the other tablets we have reviewed. One can definitely enjoy a movie or a session of web browsing on the display. XonPad 7 is a good e-reader. It is a good combination of a laptop and a Smartphone. With a SIM card slot, OPlus XonPad 7 serves as a mobile phone also. XonPad 7 features 3G Calling, Wi-Fi, WCDMA, Bluetooth HSPA+, GSM, GPRS, EDGE & Micro USB and it becomes really easy to connect. OPlus XonPad 7 has a 2 MP front camera which is decent for clicking self portraits and video calling and the 5 MP rear camera gives you clear and sharp images with color accuracy. The 5 MP rear camera has an auto focus and zoom in as well. The power button, escape key and the volume rocker are on the left side and the Micro SD card slot and the SIM card slot are at the bottom of the tablet. The 3G Android tablet has an in built memory of 16 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB. One does not need to worry about saving the more important files. You can save all you desire to. OPlus XonPad 7 is quite light when compared to the other tablets available. It is just 310 grams. You can carry it with you all the time. It fits easily into your bag. All in all it is a good combination of high end specs at a nominal price. Personally, speaking when I got to know about the tablet I did not really believe the fact that a 3G Android tablet with a SIM card slot and such good specs could be so reasonably priced. I carry it with me all the time. I may forget to carry my mobile phone with me but I can’t imagine my day without my tablet.
